Apple just announced the prices of the Apple Watch and while the basic Sport range starts at $349, the Apple Watch Edition begins at a whopping $10,000. That converts to a rough figure of almost Rs 620,000 for the gold-plated smartwatch.This whopping price tag attached to the Edition series has brought about a clamour of sorts on Twitter, where people are mocking the barbaric pricing.
Tim Cook announced that the Apple Watch Edition will be available only in select stores, pre-orders for which begin on April 10. The Apple Watch will be available in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, United Kingdom and United States from April 24. The basic Apple Watch 38mm starts at $349 and ranges up to $1,049 depending on band, and the 42mm band is only $50 more.
